​​​​​​​Come and explore how Generative AI can support your learning, creativity, research, and problem-solving across disciplines in the Grad School! Led by Prof. Arka Sarkar, whose work has been recognized by all the frontier AI labs and who has engaged with leading AI platforms and communities including OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, and Perplexity, the session will feature practical examples from Suffolk classrooms, live demos, and interactive activities. You will leave this session with a clearer sense of what AI can do, where human judgment remains essential, and how to use some of the frontier AI tools thoughtfully and responsibly at the Sawyer Business School.

Join an award-winning author, director, producer, and independent filmmaker Zachary James Miller, who will discuss the acclaimed author Richard Wright. This will be a historical look at Wright's life and time in Paris, his legacy, along with his work, both literary and political, and the times he lived in. Miller will be in conversation with Barbara Abrams, PhD, professor and chair, History, Language, Global Culture Department, and Philosophy Department, Suffolk University.

Zachary Miller's works include two on the great Black American author, Richard Wright. One is a biographical book called “Richard Wright: Black Power” available soon on preorder to be published on Amazon and other outlets on August 31, 2025, and the other is the documentary feature film, “Richard Wright: Voice of Rebellion” to be wrapped in October 2025 and soon after to begin its run on the international film festival circuit. These are both aimed at a younger audience to help them understand and learn more about the importance and legacy of Richard Wright, his novels, nonfiction books, and his political activism, which incurred the wrath of J. Edgar Hoover's FBI and the CIA. Miller’s new political nonfiction book, “1000 Days Into Fascism: Trump, Musk, and Project 2025” will be published on September 11, 2025.

Sargent Hall/120 Tremont StreetThe New England McNair Undergraduate Research & Creative Scholarship Conference (NE-MURCS) is a pioneering event designed to showcase undergraduate research and creative scholarship across all academic disciplines. The conference, held from Thursday, November 5th through Saturday, November 7th, highlights outstanding work from undergraduate scholars while fostering meaningful peer and faculty connections across New England and beyond. NE-MURCS also aims to inspire students to pursue graduate studies and advanced research opportunities by creating a collaborative environment centered on innovation, discovery, and academic excellence. We welcome all students, faculty, staff, and mentors who are eager to engage, learn, network, and share their work with the broader scholarly community.

All students interested in participating in a Poster Presentation, Oral Presentation, or Creative Scholarship Presentation at the New England McNair Undergraduate Research & Creative Scholarship Conference (NE-MURCS) will be required to submit an abstract.

Abstract submissions must be submitted no later than Friday, October 10, 2026. The abstract submission form and instructions will be found here on our website. Students who do not submit an abstract by the deadline will not be scheduled to present.
