The Suffolk University Office of Emergency Management is excited to announce that FREE Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training is now available for Suffolk University students, faculty, and staff this fall!

CERT training provides participants with essential skills in disaster preparedness and emergency response. This dynamic program combines classroom learning with hands-on activities to prepare you for real-world emergencies. Whether you want to better prepare yourself, help others, or make your community safer, this training is for you!

Schedule: Classes will take place on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5:30-8 PM, right on campus.

Here’s a sneak peek of the topics covered:

Oct. 21: Program Kickoff & General Disaster Preparedness
Oct. 23: Fire Safety & Utility Controls
Oct. 28: Terrorism Awareness, Run/Hide/Fight, and CERT Organization
Oct. 30: Medical Operations Part 1 & Hands Only CPR
Nov. 4: Disaster Medical Operations Part 2 & Disaster Psychology
Nov. 6: Light Search & Rescue
Nov. 12: Final Disaster Exercise & Graduation

This is an excellent opportunity to gain critical skills, build community connections, and be ready for emergencies. Plus, all graduates will receive FEMA certification!
