Honoring the First Cambodian American United States Mayor, the documentary Mayor of Lowell highlights Former Mayor Sokhary Chau. Sokhary Chau immigrated to the states at eight years old to escape the Khmer Rouge, a genocide which plagued Cambodia in the 1970s. This film explores Cambodian culture through the lens of artists who are reconnecting with their heritage, as well as the rich cultural hub that is the city of Lowell, Massachusetts.

This event will feature a screening of the documentary, followed by a Q&A session with the filmmakers and Former Mayor Sokhary Chau, as well as special performances by Khmer dancers.
