Join Professor George Hom from the ISOM department for a SQL workshop. SQL is a modern, in demand tool that helps users quickly and efficiently retrieve, manipulate, and store data. No prior coding experience is required to attend.

Delving into SQL goes beyond learning a programming language—it's about using a versatile skill set that elevates your proficiency in handling data and decision-making skills. SQL is the language of databases, and databases are everywhere—businesses, websites, apps, you name it. If you want to work with data, SQL is the go-to tool. It helps you retrieve, manipulate, and manage data efficiently.

An SQL virtual badge will be issued to you from the Center of Continuing & Professional Education upon completion of the workshop.

Topics covered in the SQL workshop:
-Intro to SQL
-Walkthrough of the SQL Server Management tool
-Examples of database relationship schema in the 3rd Order Normal Form
-Samples of SQL queries to retrieve data from the databases
-More complex SQL queries for data using complex Joins and Aggregations

“The SQL workshop was such a great introduction into SQL. Being a part of the introductory group of students attending this workshop was truly an honor. The instructor, George is so informative, present and always willing to go back and clear any doubts. He taught us the most essential functions in SQL in just under 2 hours which I was very surprised by. Being in the marketing world, I see more and more jobs requiring SQL and this workshop gave me the boost I needed to continue learning SQL on my own.” – MSM ’23 Student
