The Suffolk Law IP Center is pleased to present the Sixth Annual Intellectual Property & Innovation Conference, which will bring together a cross-section of the intellectual property community, including IP scholars, law firm practitioners, in-house counsel, and policy makers. Join us for this free hybrid event where experts from various fields and backgrounds will explore cutting edge issues in IP and innovation.
We are pleased to announce that our keynote speaker will be Dr. Chidi Oguamanam, a Full Professor in the Faculty of Law (Common Law Section) at the University of Ottawa, who is affiliated the Centre for Law, Technology and Society; the Centre for Environment and Global Sustainability; and the Centre for Health Law, Policy, and Ethics. He is also a member of the International Law Group and holds the Research Chair in Bio-Innovation, Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Global Knowledge Governance at the University of Ottawa.
Dr. Oguamanam is also the director of Access and Benefit Sharing Canada (ABS-Canada), an organization dedicated to creating a Canadian ABS policy that will protect biodiversity while respecting Indigenous traditional knowledge, as well as the co-founder of the Open African Innovation Research (OpenAIR) Network, a unique collaborative network of researchers in more than 20 African countries, Canada, and elsewhere in the world, with a primary goal to uncover new insights about the balance between control and access to knowledge.

You are welcome to attend this event in person at Suffolk Law School or virtually via a livestream of the conference. If you would like to attend virtually, details regarding the livestream of the event will be sent out to registrants closer to the event date.
For those attending in person, a reception will follow the conclusion of our programming.
This event is free and open to the general public and to all members of the Suffolk community, including alumni, current students, faculty, staff, and administration. Current JD students can earn one (1) hour of CLE credit for attending this event in accordance with the SULS Experiential Learning & Professional Development Requirement.
