Join Suffolk University’s Veterans Services for the 9th Annual Suffolk University Veterans Day Luncheon with keynote, Jay Tangney, on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 12:30 pm - 1:45 pm in the Keches Room, Sargent Hall.
Jay Tangney is Suffolk’s Construction’s General Counsel, responsible for overseeing the Legal Team and national ethics and compliance program. Jay also leads Suffolk Construction’s support of Veteran and military outreach through donations and volunteerism, as well as enhancing internal strategies and creating initiatives to recruit, honor, and support veteran employees. Jay is the Founder and Executive Sponsor of Suffolk’s Constructions Veteran Business Resource Group, which serves as a resource for all Suffolk Constructions Veterans and their families. Jay also played an instrumental role in establishing the Suffolk Veterans Legal Assistance Project.
Prior to joining Suffolk Construction, Jay was Regional General Counsel for North America and the United Kingdom, as well as United States General Counsel, at a global construction materials company based in Zurich and Chicago. Jay was also previously a partner at Mintz Levin, a large Boston-based national law firm. At Mintz, Jay focused on federal criminal trial practice and internal investigations as the Co-Chair of the White Collar Defense and Government Investigations Practice Group. Jay began his legal career serving as an officer and Judge Advocate in the United States Navy where he spent significant time investigating and prosecuting cases before military courts and tribunals. Jay also spent several years in the Naval Reserves after completing his active-duty commitment.
Jay received his bachelor’s degree from Boston College and his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School.
